Welcome to Burcot and Clifton Hampden Parish Council (old)

Serving the village of Burcot and Clifton Hampden in Oxfordshire.

UPDATE - Clifton Hampden and Burcot Neighbourhood Plan and Neighbourhood Development Order.

At the Parish Council meeting on 25th January 2021 a number of residents expressed concerns regarding the NDP/NDO process, governance and consultations. The Parish Council has agreed to pause the process while we look at the concerns and seek legal advice on the validity and correctness of the process to date.

Subsequently, the Parish Council has been contacted by a number of residents who have received leaflets asking them to complete another village survey regarding the recent development scheme for the village.

This leaflet is not from the Parish Council but appears to be from a resident (or group of residents) unhappy with the proposals.  The council has also been made aware of a website set up to express opposing views regarding the scheme and which uses a very similar web address to the official Parish Council website.

Please note that only information collected through consultations conducted by the Parish Council or NDO Steering Group will be considered in preparing the Neighbourhood Plan and Neighbourhood Development Order.

The correct address for information from the Parish Council regarding the status of the NDP/NDO is cliftonhampden.org.uk.

Once we resume the process, the next phase of the plan will be published on the Parish Council website, Village notice boards and via the Village email address.  Any resident who wishes to receive direct notification and who does not subscribe to the village email should register their contact details with the parish council clerk.

Thank you to all the residents who took time to complete the last survey at a busy time of year. Every response will be considered in detail and the results of that survey will be published at the start of the next phase of the plan.  A significant majority of the respondents to that survey are in favour of the proposals, which will generate many benefits to the parish including preserving our surgery and upgrading our school and village hall.  Further details on all the benefits to the parish will be published during the next phase of the process.
